District Participation RequestThe Purple Pinkie Donut Fundraise has grown to a point that it is time to decentralize. If your district is interested in participating, please follow the steps outlined below: 1. Submit a participation request form (linked below) by January 15th. Dave Baumgartner, a Dunkin’ Franchisee and Rotarian, will attempt to source donuts from other Dunkin’ Franchisees in an area that is accessible to the requesting district. 2. Once you receive confirmation that we are able to source donuts for your area, download the communication materials and forms to start fundraising. (If we are unable to source donuts for your area, you are still welcome to do a fundraiser using the linked materials, but will need to find your own thank you “gift” to give for donations.)

District Designated Funds (DDF)In order to participate, the district MUST commit DDF for matching donations. Any donation to Polio Plus is matched 3.5 times automatically. The commitment of DDF increases the matching total to 7.5 times, which is the incentive for doing a district wide fundraiser with the gift of Purple Pinkie Donuts. Here’s how it works: A $25 dollar donation is matched by the District (DDF) and half matched by Rotary International. The resulting $62.50 is then tripled by the Gates Foundation yielding $187.50 dollars for Polio eradication, a powerful 7.5 times multiple of the original $25!

Donut OrderingThe total number of requested dozens of purple pinkie donuts has to be submitted to XXXXX no later than XXXXX. It is important to note that donuts are provided as a “free gift” to thank Rotarians for their $25 donation to polio eradication. They are not being “sold,” which would be a taxable transaction. 100% of the proceeds go directly to The Rotary Foundation. The donuts are being DONATED to this cause by Dunkin’ franchisees at no cost to Rotary.

Donut DistributionDonuts will be available for pick up at the designated Dunkin’ locations on XXXXXX. Ideally, club/district representatives pick up large quantities of dozens to distribute in the district. The Dunkin’ stores are volunteering to participate in this fundraiser as a convenient pickup location. They do not collect money or have any information beyond the specific pick-up plans that your district coordinator has provided. Problems are inevitably going to occur, but we need to minimize the friction caused when an inevitable problem occurs during the store interactions. When a Rotarian expresses frustration to the stores it puts at risk the future participation and donut donations by the franchisee for that store.
